Our Gates
Here at Oakwood Fencing, we are very aware of the environmental impact of the destabilisation of forests therefore we are committed in sourcing materials from sustainable forests which is why we only buy from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) registered suppliers.
All of our gate material is Redwood and is a mixture of 4th or the better grade unsorted to minimise warping and splitting.
Gates can be pressure treated Brown or Green to ACQ1900.
Standard Framed Ledged and braced gates are manufactured using the following materials.
Ex 50mm x 100mm P.A.R. morticed and rebated stiles
Ex 50mm x 100mm P.A.R. rebated & tenoned top rail
Ex 32mm x 138mm P.A.R. tenoned middle and bottom
Ex 32mm x 138mm P.A.R. braces
Ex 25mm x 63mm P.A.R. twice weathered saddle backed capping
All the above is 4th Scandinavian redwood and unsorted Scandinavian redwood to minimalize warping and splitting that you might get in extreme weather conditions.
The above can be clad in either
Ex 22mm x 125mm featheredge or
Ex 19mm x 100mm tongue & groove
Picket gates are manufactured using the following materials.
Ex 50mm x 75mm P.A.R. morticed stiles
EX 25mm x 75mm P.A.R. Palings
Ex 25mm x 75mm P.A.R. tenoned rails
Ex 25mm x 75mm P.A.R. braces
All the above is 4th Scandinavian Redwood.
